    The saying goes; there are two sides to every coin or two side's to every story!  I used to walk around with a pocket full of coin's, boy did I have plenty. Suddenly I was living the other side of the coin, my pocket's were empty and this is my side of the story. Many look at the homeless and quickly look away!  Not willing to look at a reality of life, even though one of life's realities is directly looking back at them. They mean no harm as they beg for a little help,food and compassion. Many other's stare at them and sometime's glare at this ugly reality of life. They do nothing to help this individual and only presume that they are there because they want to be. Whether one chooses to help or not is clearly their right. But please, don't presume to know their story. Don't even try to imagine their pain or hardship, because you cant. I was there, I was one of the one's begging and sometime's being glared at! I will tell you from personal experience ; Regardless of what many may think, I sure as hell did not want to be there!   For example; I can look at you and your status's in life. I can admire your fine materialistic possession's and be impressed by your accomplishment's. But unless I have walked in your shoe's; I will never know the sacrifice's you have made or feel the pain and hardships you have endured. I will never really know what you have lost to arrive at this point in your life.  Over the next few month's, I will tell you of my experience's on the street's and many more ugly truth's of my life. A life that I once considered to be, my living hell !  I once cursed my life and God for allowing me reach this point in my life. For that, I now beg his forgiveness!  I felt that I was being punished, condemned or simply just ignored by him. Now I feel that I was never ignored, forgotten or condemned by him, not even for a second. I was blessed with the rare opportunity to experience true hardship and pain, in order to better understand how to help my fellow man. I myself have become a better man because of it. One who now appreciate's, respects and cherishes's the simple thing's in life. Another saying goes's;  What does'nt kill us make's us stronger! I am still alive ,(it seem's now more then ever) and I have never felt stronger. Although I have experienced many hardship's and great losses.  I feel  that I have taken a journey, one that was predetermined for me.  I now ask you to walk in my shoe's, as I walk in the shoe's of another.  " If I had to suffer to better understand the pain and suffering of  another man. If I had to share his pain, to know how best to heal him. Then I would only have truly suffered, had I never suffered at all! I think you are correct, that adversity in life can be turned around to make a positive, and I commend you for turning your adversity around and helping others. Our own hard times can make us have more compassion and empathy for others, which is a good thing.
